HealthCap Africa Appoints Rebecca Enonchong, FREng, as External Investment Committee Member


HealthCap Africa Limited is excited to announce the appointment of Rebecca Enonchong, FREng, as an external member of our investment committee. With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, Ms. Enonchong brings a wealth of expertise to our team.

Rebecca Enonchong is a renowned advocate for technology innovation and ventures in Africa. She serves as the Chair of ActivSpaces in Cameroon and holds the distinguished position of Chair Emeritus at Afrilabs, providing invaluable support to more than 1 million entrepreneurs across 52 African countries. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the Cameroon Angels Network and the African Business Angels Network.

As the founder and CEO of AppsTech, an enterprise software company, and the co-founder of I/O Spaces, an inclusive coworking space in the Washington DC area, Ms. Enonchong has demonstrated her commitment to fostering technological advancements.

Furthermore, she holds prominent board memberships, including the International Chamber of Commerce, VC4Africa, Imagine Worldwide, the US Exim Bank Advisory Council on Advancing Women, and the UN ECA Center for Digital Excellence. Her outstanding achievements led to her election as an International Fellow of the esteemed UK Royal Academy of Engineering in 2022, earning her the prestigious FREng designation.

In her role as an external member of our investment committee, Ms. Enonchong will provide invaluable insights and expertise to shape our investment strategy and decision-making process. Her extensive knowledge in healthtech and fintech will be particularly beneficial to our team.

HealthCap Africa (HCA) is an Africa-focused investment firm with a mandate to improve the lives of 1.4 billion+ Africans by investing in assets that create a healthier world. HealthCap invests in two main asset classes: infrastructure and venture capital. On the venture capital arm, HealthCap has invested in about 20 companies both in the healthtech and fintech sectors, and the value of the companies in our portfolio is c.$700m.

We intend to continue in our mandate to back scalable pre-series A companies using the venture capital investment tool, and we are excited to have Ms. Rebecca Enonchong onboard as we work to achieve this mandate.
